The Environmental Code Enforcement Office educates the public about environmental issues concerning the county.  The office enforces solid waste ordinances throughout Jones County and is a source of answers and solutions to environmental questions and problems.  Other service areas include the regulation of all scrap tire generators within the county, assistance of the convenience/recycling centers located in the county, the overseeing of logging operations, as well assisting the general public.  The office is involved with the following events each year:  the Great American Cleanup, Earth Day Celebration, America Recycles Day, Clean Campus/Business Award Programs, environmental education programs, and various environmental education displays and presentations.
