An important resource in Jones County, the public library has
been providing library services and public interest programming for
70 years.
Its current 7,500 square foot facility, shown to the left, is one of the most distinctive public buildings in the county. The library moved to this building in 1988. We house over 25,000 books. Special Collections include genealogical and historical books and family histories for use in the library. As part of the Middle Georgia Regional Library System, the Jones County Library is able to provide access to library materials in and out of the state of Georgia. A regional bookmobile visits weekly to deliver ordered materials. Jones County Public Library has 7 computers connected to the internet for public use and 1 computer (with learning games) for children. We are also part of the Pines
Library System of the state of Georgia. Our book catalog can be
accessed through the internet at http://pines.lib.ga.us. |
